SUBJECT: World Geography
TOPIC: Jeopardy Review
GRADE LEVEL: Middle School and High School

Objectives

After playing Jeopardy, the student will be able to determine what area he/she is lacking competence in for the a final exam.

The student will appreciate the benefits of teamwork when reviewing major concepts after competing together for team points.


 

Procedure

  1. Students will be assigned to one of four teams.
  2. Each team member will answer independently but points won will be assigned to their team.
  3. Members can collaborate after an incorrect answer is given from another team.
  4. A team can wager any amount points on the final jeopardy question.
  5. Incorrect answer will result in that question's value being subtracted from the team's total.
  6. The team with the most points wins the game.

 

Evaluation

Students will be evaluated on their participation during the game.


 

Sample Jeopardy Questions and answers

Q. An imaginary line that divides the earth into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
A. What is the Equator?

Less than 10 inches of precipitation annually is found in this very dry and very hot climate.
A. What is the desert?

Q. This island is also considered a continent.
A. What is Australia?

Q. This Jewish book has the first five books of the bible.
A. What is Torah?
