This resource is commited to
providing equal educational opportunity
for lesbian and gay
youth. These youth consistantly find themselves castigated in an
American educational system where teaching tends toward
heterocentric instruction. Educators, students, parents, and involved
community members
will find valuable resources to help integrate lesbian and gay tolerant
curriculum, and perhaps find answers to questions relevant to
fostering more inclusive and diverse teaching environments.
Too often, students in publicly operated schools are
not given the opportunity to flourish because of the heterocentric
curriculum dominating current educational trends. These trends promote
a silent neo-segregation based on sexual orientation within the
classroom. This site's aim is to
offer lesbian and gay tolerant educational resources so that students
have
the opportunity for success in education. Futhermore, the utilization
of these
resources contributes to a more understanding
scholastic environment and culture as a whole.
