of us can do something
to bring some portion of misery to
Congratulations! You have
completed your quest! By now your group should be able to
accurately describe the similarities and differences between the
Holocaust and two other incidences of genocide. Additionally your
group should have articulated whether or not the spotlight textbooks
shine on the Holocaust is justified.
However this quest was also about
something more than just a classroom assignment. As mentioned
in the introduction and as you have now discovered there have
been numerous incidences of genocide throughout history. While on
your quest there is no doubt that you have read about monstrous acts of
evil and examined pictures depicting these atrocities. You have
realized that the potential for racism and genocide is universal as is
man's capacity for good or evil. Hopefully you have learned to
appreciate that genocide can happen to anyone.
Possibly this quest has led you to become
interested in supporting international protection and justice or
working to end genocide worldwide. If that is the case, your
enthusiasm should be applauded.
But maybe this quest has a more simple (but no less valuable) end for
you, and that is to simply be kinder and more considerate towards those
who are different from you.
