The Task


Baths of Caracalla
Step 1. Your cooperative learning group will be assigned the task of researching the history of one of the five architectural structures (listed below) that serve as models of ancient Roman culture.
a) The Coliseum
b) The Pantheon
c) Trevi Fountain
d) Baths of Caracalla
e) St. Peter's Basilica
Step 2. Use the research table to record the following information for your selected structure:
a) when the structure was built
b) what materials the structure is made out of
c) the location of the structure
d) why the structure was assembled
e) the individuals involved in constructing it
f) the structure's modern day purpose
g) one interesting or amazing fact about the structure
Step 3. Collaboratively write a 2-3 page research paper including: the information from your research table, the past and present significance of the structure, and at least five websites that you used in finding your information. - See Rubric to determine how you will be evaluated.
Step 4. Present your findings to the class in a unique, engaging style. The presentation should last between 5-7 minutes, highlighting the key points mentioned above. Include a visual aid or a form of media that keeps your audience's attention. Your classmates will evaluate your presentation. - See Peer Observation Checklist
