Craig Roney is a Professor of Teacher Education at Wayne State University in Detroit. He specializes
in instruction in Children's Literature, Storytelling, and the Language Arts and regularly teaches both graduate and
undergraduate courses in these areas as well as more general coursework in elementary and middle school teacher
preparation. Craig serves as a member (and past chair) of the Committee on Storytelling of the National Council
of Teachers of English, and is an active member of the International Reading Association and the National
Storytelling Network. He frequently conducts workshops, school demonstrations, lectures and
seminars both regionally and nationally particularly regarding the use of children's literature and storytelling
in the classroom. He has also written numerous publications on these topics.
