hands-on
activity
- A one page (or less) lesson plan of the activity
- One page summary of the chapter
Sample Lesson Plan
Goal-
To have students become aware of various places in the world which are
sources of news. [CLCE 6 – G6.1.1 Contemporary
Investigations – Conduct research on contemporary global topics and
issues, . . . ]
Objectives- Students will be able to:
- Find news articles outside the U.S.
- Locate the country of the origin of the news on a world map
- Name the capital of the country on a world map
Evaluation- Observe if students-
- brought in news articles from outside the U.S.
- located countries on the world map
- could identify the capitals of the countries
(Benchmarks 2.3.2, 2.3.13, 2.5.1, 2.5.2, 2.5.6 & 2.5.7)
Procedures- Students will:
- be assigned to bring in a print source article from any part of
the
world outside the U.S. in the previous class session
- read the headline of the story
- locate on a world map the country & name the capital
